Today was one of those rare day when time is on your side. I know crazy, right! I was forced to stay at home and be available for the crew of plumbers and electricians working on the house all day (more to come on that later). There is only so much you can do when six men are in and out of the house, asking you to flush toilets, and telling you things you’ll need to relay in detail to your hubby. In a weird way I think The Lord gave me this free day to reflect on the past year and spend some much needed time in prayer. One of my prayers for this year is that God will teach to me to be simper. Celebration of Discipline is a book I’m reading with friends and it put this into focus.
A simple life is a life free from anxiety and anxiety is characterized by three different attitudes. If what we have we receive as a gift, and if what we have is to be cared for by God, and if what we have is available to others, then we will possess freedom from anxiety. However, if what we have we believe we have gotten, and if what we have we believe we must hold onto, and if what we have is not available to others, then we will live in anxiety. When we are seeking first the kingdom of God, these three attitudes will characterize our lives.
Here’s to a new prayer, a new vision, a new year, and a new look for salt water remedies!
Bear too was peaceful today.
Now I’m off to drain the hot water heater.
