Summer Staycation

Summer is better on the beach and everyone knows it.  So, it’s no surprise that some of our favorite peps chose to come here for vaca.  These past few weeks of summer have been filled with vacation memories without ever leaving town.

I-Shien came from ATL for the 4th of July weekend.  To bad it rained the WHOLE time.  We managed to still host a party in the garage, watch fire works over the sound, hit the gym, make home made crawfish étouffée-#yum, see a couple movies, and best of all reminisce about the good ol’ college days. GO NOLES!

Matt & Ashley also graced us with a long weekend stay.  They drove from Macon, Ga and got in late at night.  I thought for sure they would let us know they had arrived with a subtle air horn to face while still asleep, but not pranks this time.  We had great weather, watched the not so great air show-#bringbacktheblueangles, ate at Peg Leg’s & Sidelines, got some sun, and they shared some life changing news-good news and more to come later.

My Cousin, Dawn, and her three kiddos made it down from DC. They stayed with my mom on the beach, they are RAD, and adorable!

And the winner for most distance traveled is of course Michelle.  She was in town for about 6 weeks traveling around a bit during her holiday –#howtheaussiesayvacation.  She didn’t stay with us but with her parent.  We were able to spend tons of time together visiting and enjoying Lachlan, her 8 month old.  Ginny, another highschool bestie, also made it down for Michelle’s last weekend in the US until unknown.  Tillman, Ginny’s 11 month old made the trek with her and what a joy it is to have everyone together. If it isn’t obvious by the pictures these babies are giving me and my ovaries a bit of baby fever. Ok maybe a lot of baby fever!

I love summer, I love hot weather, I love the beach, I don’t love sunburns but they love me, and I love love love having friends come spend vacation here with us! I miss you all but won’t forget because you let me take face pics every two seconds! I have a long term memory problem 🙂

BIRTHDAY SNAPPER

June 8th 1980.  The day the Lord created the perfect man for me.  I’m grateful for his birth and for the life he has given me.  To celebrate him 33 years later we did want every man wants… went fishing!  In addition to the cutest little banner I made for him, Jeff wanted to see his family, and catch fish.  Bill and Marilyn were able to make the trip from Homestead along with Aunt Nett from Montgomery.  For the first time we were able to host everyone here at 206 Cordoba!

The Lord continued to bless us by keeping tropical storm Andrea away and providing gorgeous summer weather.  Our boat isn’t large enough for the extra passengers or off shore trips, which is why we called Jeremy with Buck Wild Fishing Charters.  We met at sunrise and left from Shoreline Park.  And for the record Jeremy speaks snapper, Fluently!  We caught our snapper limits after a few hours then spent some time fishing for other great catches.  It was perfect.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF ~ WE LOVE YOU. AND FISHING.

Salty Dogs

Ah Saturday how I love you. Jeff spent the day playing golf while some friends and I had a puppy play date. I thought I had it good living in paradise but these furry friends of ours aren’t lacking.

Meet Cielo. Rachel and Dan’s 5 month old husky. She is Adorable. Still has those little puppy teeth and playful bite. Oh, and Dan is Columbian and Cielo is spanish for sky. And yes Dan’s pronunciation is much better than mine. None the less this little spit fire pup is a heart breaker.

ANNABELLE

My cousin James – is great. Even greater – his sweet baby girl, Annabelle.  2nd Cousin sounds so distant so I like to consider myself an Aunt.  Annabelle’s party at the park was a hit and celebrating with her was a real treat.  (yes her bday was in Feb-see previous post)

Im no Pioneer Woman

I took a bit of a blogging break over Feb & March.  I realize that Ree Drummond that super blogger lady behind thepioneerwoman.com probably doesn’t takes months in-between blog posts but that’s ooo-kay.  I’ve been crushing some overtime at the hospital, Jeff started a part time job along side his full time job, as a college professor, and I just lost my blogging vibes for a minute.  But I’m Back!

Stay tuned.
